This is a little late, but thought I'd share that our little Caroline arrived.
Last Monday, I went into work like normal. During the morning, I was having back pain and contractions, but they weren't very close together. By early afternoon, they were getting more regular and closer together, but I had in mind that it would be like our first daughter where I had 26 hours of contractions. I left a bit early (4ish) and by the time I got home, I told DH that I wanted to go in to get checked just in case and we drove the 45 minutes to the hospital.
This is where it gets interesting... We got to the hospital at 5:15. I got checked in and changed into a hospital gown by 5:35, and they checked me (8 cm) and did a quick ultrasound to confirm position. They moved me to a delivery room around 5:45 and re-checked me to find out that I was fully dialated. It took everyone a couple minutes to get things together, and I was finally able to start pushing. 4 more contractions and she was out at 5:57.
Caroline Elizabeth arrive at 38w weighing 8 lb 13 oz and was 19 3/4" long. I'm glad she didn't wait much longer given how big she was and I'm glad we didn't wait any longer to leave for the hospital.
She's doing well at home, other than some difficulties with BFing. Big sister Isa is having fun "helping" with her little sister.
Congrats to everyone else with outside babies (I'm sure I've missed some posts this week) and everyone that's still waiting, hang in there.
