  Is it possible to schedule a visit with the dentist where no procedure is done? Like go, play with toys, meet the dentist, leave.

  Yup... last visit to the Pedi.. soon as he entered the room all hell broke loose.. My Pedi's comment " well we don't need to worry about his lungs, do we?"  lol  

  
  We haven't had a Pedi weight or height  score in forever cos he has a total cow if the girls come near him too. ( they give the shots )  Last one we got was only because I stood on the scales and then handed him off and we subtracted me  lol.  I have my own baby/toddler scales at home  tho..and as long as I can see he is growing height and weight wise..I'm not worried about numbers.  I have pencil marks up the door frame whenever I can sneak a quick measure as he goofs off near my washer.. that's my growth chart LOL ..that and ..oh I don't need to roll up those pants anymore.. cool.
  
  I wish I had some advice but we're facing the same problem, hell we can't even get him to quit eating the training toothpaste LOL and now we are trying to move to the regular stuff.. it's a battle to stop him eating that too. You have no idea how  many toothbrushes this child has eaten.. I mean seriously he chews the rubber off, chews bristles out and if there is no rubber.. they  end up looking like a dog ate em.
  
  The only bonus has always been, we figured if he was chewing the bristles that much they had to be cleaning his teeth at the same time.... * rolleyes
  
  ... all I can suggest is you ask around friends and family for recommendations .. I agree with Nunz if you can get a "play date" first .. might help

  My DS hates the doc too, and sorry but I have no tried and true suggestions. He has several appts coming up and I was going to try watching the Daniel Tiger doctor visits episodes with him and play doctor with him. He understands a lot more now and I think if I prepare him some regarding what to expect it will help, at least a little. FX for both of us!

  Thank you all for the kind responses. Makes me feel a bit better knowing that my DS is not the only one. Although, it be best if all kids didnt dislike the doctor this much. I'll come back with an update. He has his appointment scheduled for the 29th. So far, I've ready really good reviews. Thanks again
