Thoughts on Rose as fn?

What do you think of Rose as a first name? I haven't checked the stats, but to me it seems underused as a fn, as it is so often used as a mn.
It's a family name, plus I just like it. Not sure what we're having yet, only 8 weeks. Just waiting at the Dr for my 1st appt! Getting excited about another little one to name

You could perhaps do a variant such as Rosalie or Rosemary (as pp's stated), Rosa, Rosalind, etc. I don't think it's overly popular as fn name.

I love Rose/Rosie/Rosalie/Rosemary. Just can't use it.

FWIW, I work at an elementary school starting with a Nursery school (age 3) and I don't know any Roses/Rosies/etc.

I am rather biased because DD1 is Rose, but I think it's a beautiful name. It ages well, it's easy to spell/pronounce, and Rosie is a cute nickname. My only regret is that it kept me from naming DD2 Violet. Alas.
