AW: My MIL is better than yours

I know there are all kinds of scary MIL's out there. I wanted to take a second and AW mine! I just got a bouquet of flowers from her delivered at work. I almost cried! My office smells so good now. Her sweet little note, "Thank you for a wonderful weekend full of family surprises I am sooooo blessed!" She's seriously the best!

    Mine is a nurse and listened to all my complaints about constipation this weekend and helped me figure out a game plan. That's right we talked about poop. I think I called her like 8 times for a variety of reasons.

    I had a wonderful MIL too. Unfortunately, we lost her to cancer in May, but she was the best. We were wine buddies.

    That's great that you have such a wonderful relationship and can pass that example on to your kids.

    She's the definition of self-centered. Everything has to revolve around her, and I don't play along with that & cater to her. Plus, she's retired, twice divorced, & H is an only child....so basically I stole her world when I married him. Seriously, before the wedding planning started, we got along famously. Since then it's been a downward spiral into the fiery gates of hell.


    ETA I hate that it's this way. But every time I try to include her in stuff she shoots me down. And most of the time we are around her she doesn't speak to me or if she does, it's a negative comment like calling me fat.

    Yes I can't really complain about mine. She lives far away but wanted to do something to help out. I am her only chance for a grandchild, I imagine it's just the start. My first preg last year she started helping me design the nursery (she an interior designer) she said she would order whatever I wanted.

    I wish my MIL was this awesome. Mine is beyond BSC and will probably never find out she's a grandma...and if she did she would probably want nothing to do with him/her anyway. Honestly, that's probably a good thing because I don't think I would want our kids around her in the first place.

    She's an awesome resource! That is great.

     

    My MIL just kept saying "Are you ok?" over and over. While crying. She was a wreck. We thought being in public would help hold her together, not so much.

    That is super sweet! My MIL irks me sometimes but overall she's cool. My IL's take us on a trip every year so I can't complain too much :)

    Your MIL is way cooler than my MIL. Mine just busted out of the restaurant when we told her. DH and I were like...."is she happy or mad?" Turns out happy, but has a super awkward way of showing it.

    Flowers would have been way cooler!

    I'm with you! At times mine is great but about 99% of the time, its a different story.She is selfish and constantly in my business. We haven't told her yet that we are expecting simply because I don't want her up my @$$ with her opinions and comments

    That is really sweet. My MIL is actually very sweet as well. However, she did just buy DS a drum for his birthday so I am wondering if I pissed her off recently.
