Awesome new product? car seat and stroller in one

I am both excited because it looks amazing, but wary because there aren't a lot of reviews out there yet.

Would you buy it?? Thoughts??

This! And I wouldn't spend $350 on something that I could get for less than $200 normally (stroller/infant car seat combo + an extra car seat for when they are bigger). It just doesn't make sense to me, plus the ad says December 14 now, but it also has the disclaimer that it could change without notice, meaning that it may come available now, or it may come available in March. We don't really know for sure. It hasn't been tested, there aren't any reviews, and it looks cumbersome to boot. IMO, I wouldn't buy strictly for those three reasons alone, let alone the fact that its $350 BEFORE shipping.

The car seat has been on the market outside of the US and has good reviews. I have been watching this one too and doing research. The most common complaint is the dirt on the wheels that can get on the seat of your car (which an accessory for the carseat is wheel covers you can purchase or just buy a seat protector) and the second bad review is not having a base for the car seat so you have to strap it in every time you remove it from the car (this to being worked on as they are now selling a base as optional to go with it). I can't wait for it to be approved in the US. They are saying December of this year.

A lot of brands offer options where there is a base that goes into the car that the seat snaps into. You then hit a lever to disconnect from the base and it snaps right into the stroller. Travel Systems is the lingo I believe.

It's good to know it's sold into other countries, but I would hope that they have satisfied all the testing requirements here in the US. I know our hospital with DD - a nurse came out to the car to inspect the expiration date on the car seat, ensure it was installed correctly, and that the seat locked in properly.

If the nurse wasn't comfortable the baby wasn't allowed to leave the hospital. Seems like you're doing your research though, so go with your gut instinct. Good luck!!

The seat is going through the US safety tests which is why it's not for sale as of yet.

I was holding off on safety concerns until it was released in the US. The reviews I've seen seem pretty positive in that regards, but Europe does have very different standards than the US.

I've seen videos where it goes into a base, so it exists (I would hope).

We currently have a carseat + stroller travel system on our registry, but DH really, really likes this. I just don't know if I'm sold. But it looks so handy. But I really like reviews before I buy things. Bah.

I think one of the Snap and Go stroller "skeletons" makes more sense. It takes up almost no room, and you wouldn't get the dust from the wheels all over the car. Strapping it in each time instead of having a base is a totally deal breaker for me. What a pain!

$350+ for a stroller that is only good to 35lbs? No thanks.

It looks very unstable/unsafe too.

The Snap-n-Go's would do the job better. If I was only having 1, we'd be looking strongly at that option.

That being said, MBean is a fabulous company.

I can imagine this being awesome for someone who doesn't have a car, and lives in a city with plenty of cabs and public transportation options.

It does have a base and wheel covers to protect seats.

But I don't think I'm sold yet...

It's 15 lbs... We have the Gracco KeyFit 30 (and Liteway Plus) on our registry (fully expecting to buy ourselves with a completion discount), and that's only 9 lbs.

It's an interesting idea but I don't think it would be worth the money. Most travel system strollers will fit your child for as long as they want to be in a stroller whereas this looks like it would really only work while they're an infant. Once a child can sit up comfortably and especially once they walk I don't think they would be happy in a seat that keeps them laying down. I would invest in a nice travel system knowing that you will get years of use out of it.

I agree with this! For someone who has their own car, I think a Snap n Go type system would be more convenient. They're super-easy to use. I'd rather get LO quickly in the car in inclement weather and then deal with the frame separately, rather than have to collapse the unit before putting LO in. Plus, if you take LO out, the frame is a lot lighter and easier to deal with, I imagine. Also, this doesn't seem to have a basket. I loved the big basket on my Chicco Keyfit Caddy (basically Chicco's version of a snap n go.) Then there's the cost factor - unless you are that carless urban mom, I can't see any reason why this would be a better option.

I wouldn't buy it.

This. You're going to spend a lot of money on a car seat that they're going to grow out of pretty quickly. Then you'll have to buy a bigger seat and a seperate stroller. Something to consider.

I think this is great. But what do you do when your child grows out of the carseat? I have a friend who has a 16 mo old who is already over 35 lbs. He outgrew his infants seat at 7 months. Price isn't really the issue for me. We are actually doing the UppaVista and Uppa mesa car seat combo. But I would rather spend $1000 on a stroller that I can use the bassinet for co-sleeping and the stroller for eventually 2 kids. To me this is more money well spent. To me its all about getting my use out of it. I couldn't see myself spending $350 on a stroller carseat that if I have a big kid I could only use for maybe 6-8 months. My SH had a tough time wrapping his head around the price of the mesa at $270 he would shit a brick if I wanted to spend another $80 on an infant seat.

Think it would be good if you traveled a lot (airplane, new city etc) also like someone mentioned if you took cabs/didnt have a car.

I'd worry i wasnt strapping it in correctly if i had to keep doing it daily (as thats the biggest PITA in my opinion).

Also 32inchs and 35 pounds. Thats very short along with light. My DD is a light weight but she's always been 75% height wise so i wouldnt invest the cash on something that would be useless in 6months
