Bottle Feeding Mommies...

Hello ladies..  I have been reading online reviews on Avent, Playtex Vent Aire, Dr. Browns, Playtex Drop in System, etc. It seems like the Drop in system has gotten the best reviews.(Less  leaks, gas spitting up) They seem like less cleaning too.The only downside is you have to buy the plastic liners. These are the same bottles my mom used for me when I was a baby and have been around forever... I was wondering if I should just stick to the tried and true...

Can you all give me your opinions or reccomendations? thanks alot

Re: Bottle Feeding Mommies...

  • We use drop ins and I LOVE them.  Walmart and Target both have store brand liners too, which are far less than the playtex ones.

  • You never know what DC is going to like.  We FF from day one, so DS only liked nipples shaped like the ones the hospital provides.  He wasn't the least bit interested in the Platex drop-ins even though that's what I had.  You may end up having to try a few before you find the right fit.
  • I use the drop ins and buy the target brand liners. I actually like them better than the name brand liners. I used them with my first child too and my sister used them with all three of her kids. Very easy to clean.
  • I love the drop ins.  The Target brand of liners are the same as the Playtex ones but waayyy cheaper.
  • I have tried them all and after 18m I still love the Drop-ins the best. Teh liners go right into the recycling bin. They are easy to clean, solved our gas issues, not may parts, BPA free.
  • I use Playtex Drop Ins and love them (also at the recommendation of my Mom who used them).  They are so easy and you don't have to worry about washing bottles, we just bought plenty of nipples so we wash nipples every other day.  They are super convenient. Just don't rely on the oz measurement on the side it is about a half oz small. Like if you want 6 oz, we have to go to about 6.5 on the bottle, you get used to it but use a measuring glass in the beginning to get the hang of it.

  • awesome.. thanks so much
  • I use Avent bottles.  No drop-ins.  I tried the Dr. Brown's bottle but it didn't help with her gas pains and they were a pain to clean.  So I'm still using Avent (I switchedf to Nestle Good Start and no more gas).

  • We tried all sorts of bottles before we found one that our ds liked.  He finally decided on the Playtex Ventaire.  So some of my bottles from my shower are just sitting in my cabinets unused.  It kind of depends on what your dc will take- mine was and still is extra fussy with eating!
  • I got both the drop-ins and ventaire. I used the drop-ins, at first - DS did great with them (clean up is great with these bottles!). When he started taking 4oz - it was hard to measure (since we use powder formula) in the drop-in nurser bottles (4oz max), so I started using the 6oz ventaire and he did great with those too and that's what we're using now.

  • I use Dr. Browns and I like them. I HATE Avent bottles with a passion. I want to throw every Avent bottle I see into a bonfire. They used to leak everywhere and drive me absolutely up a wall.

  • We use the drop-ins and we love them!  I do not think the price of the liners are an issue at all!  They are actually really cheap.

  • We tried them all and prefer playtex drop ins. I prefer the walmart liners, and they are cheap!

  • We've used the drops ins and the playtex ventaire. We are sticking with the drop ins, they work really well for the most part. Anorah doesn't like something about the ventaire and will only eat minimal amount of food from them because they piss her off! Also the measurements on the side rubbed off so I had to etch in the oz markings.?
