Re: What is your favorite milk?

  • We drink organic cows milk here. The kids and I do whole milk, SO does 2%. We get ours delivered from a local dairy. It's so much better than any other milk I've ever had. When Cade had his MPI issues he drank Almond milk though.

  • When I was pregnant with R, milk made me puke. That's when we switched to almond milk. My favorite is Silk Unsweetened Vanilla.

  • I love whole cow's milk, but apparently M doesn't. I prefer coconut milk, DW prefers soy. We drank both of these here and there before we found out M had a dairy intolerance of some sort.

  • I voted SS. I am lactose sensitive. For some reason I have no problem with raw cows milk and prefer it when I can get it. Friends of ours have a milk cow and they give us milk whenever we ask. But if we are out and can't get to there house; I have to buy milk at the store I have to get lactose free or no one will be around me. Store milk just doesn't taste the same to me, so I try to avoid buying it.

  • I LOVE milk, but I had to choose no milk because I recently developed lactose intolerance. I'm very sad about it. My husband, also lactose intolerant for many years drinks the lactose free milk. I think it tastes gross (it tastes like milk leftover after you've eaten sugary cereal), so I won't drink itm I do use it in things though, cereal, tea, etc.

  • Didn't answer......dd loves milk, and ds1 is milk sensitive so he does minimal milk, and ds2 is milk allergic so most cooking is done milk free and he drinks non-cow milk milk products. Dh drinks milk on occasion and I drink milk on an even rarer occasion.

  • We drink whole milk from a local dairy. It isn't organic or special but the quality is far superior to grocery store milk.
  • This content has been removed.
  • I can't stand the smell or taste of cow milk and dh has a lactose problem. I only use cow milk, cream, etc for cooking if an alternative won't work. I keep almond milk around for coffee, etc. I don't drink it straight.

Now that we know DS is mpi, we just stick to the almond milk.

  • We all drink 2% cows milk from the store. I wish I could buy from a local farm or something but I have no idea how to find something like that.

  • I love, love, love cows milk but we are now pretty much an almond milk household because we all have some degree of sensitivity to cows milk so it is just easier to avoid. I really like coconut milk as well but I am allergic to it so I can't have that either.

  • I really like coconut milk. My h comes from a dairy farm so he's all about cows milk, but the thought of it really grosses me out. I love cheese and will cook with it but I can't drink it or use it for cereal. It started the last time I was pregnant, I was really craving chocolate milk. So I got one and was drinking it, but got the image in my head of me sucking on a cows utter. No more. Eggs also weird me out since my most recent pregnancy.
  • I only drink cow's milk when I'm pregnant. DH prefers rice milk for cereal, DD1 likes occasional almond milk, but mostly just cheese & yogurt for calcium. DD2 drinks organic dairy formula. I love the refrigerated almond coconut milk. Yum! I guess I should have voted SS.
  • Our family is dairy free not due to any allergies, just dietary preference - primal. We use coconut milk in coffee, smoothies, etc, but not just to drink a cup of. LO doesn't drink anything but water and green smoothies.
