NBR: What would O13 do?

So this situation came up this weekend and I'm curious what others would do because DH and I disagreed a bit.

Let me set the scene for you. It's 9:45 PM on a Friday night. I'm putting the bird to bed and hear all sorts of ruckus outside. I look out the window and notice about 5-6 teenage boys standing in the neighbor's yard talking loudly. I thought "fight!" and got a little excited that I was about to see something go down in my generally quiet suburban neighborhood.

I moved to a closer window and quickly realized there was no fight, but instead, the kids were rolling the neighbor's house. They have a son that is probably 13-15 years old. I watched for a few minutes and I couldn't quite tell what they were doing. I could see them throwing something they were pulling from a shopping bag, but it looked too small to be TP and I couldn't see it in the trees or yard so I thought it might be eggs.

If it had been TP, it would've been no big deal and I would've just watched and enjoyed myself a bit. But eggs? It was supposed to be around 90 the next day and I couldn't imagine how much that might stink or what kind of mess it would make. Plus, a few years earlier, some kids had been caught throwing entire jars of tomato sauce at people's houses (which broke some windows), so I was worried that it wasn't as innocent as it looked. I asked DH if we should call the cops because they kept running along our side yard when throwing whatever it was they were throwing, and I got worried they might accidentally damage something. DH looked at me like I was crazy and said to let them do whatever they were doing.

A few minutes later some of their buddies pulled up in 2 cars and they all left. The next morning there was no evidence of eggs or anything else but TP. They bought some really crappy TP, so it was all bunched up and they didn't even do a good job. There is still some balled up in the trees.

So what would O13 have done?

Cat lady!! But realistically I would've just made my presence known outside and not really yell at them.

Coming from someone who had teenagers do lots of things to her car, some of which actually damaged my car, I would have called the cops or at least screamed cat lady style.

I probably would have went bout and talked to them... Tp is fine. Anything else and I'm calling the cops. I did a lot if TPing back in the day. It's harmless.

I would have taken pics and then called the cops. Pictures so they could be identified. I am sure TPing is fun and all, but someone has to clean it up. At my house, it is not SO (disability), it is me. I would want my neighbor to call.

Yes, I creeped back here. I was having to much adult fun and then made another baby. Hahaha.

I don't think they were home. The kids were talking so loudly that I heard them from inside my house, so I can't imagine they were home and just didn't notice. We don't have their number. We've lived here 5 years and I think we've talked to them twice.

I definitely would have just creeped. Deep down the 13 year old me would have come out and wanted to join but obviously that wouldn't happen.

I never would have called the cops for just some TP or eggs. I was the pre teen/teen who egged/TP/chocolate syruped houses and schools weekly though, so... :-??

Creep until I see something wrong/bad/dangerous/illegal for sure and then call cops.

Egging and TPing was a pretty common tradition amongst our HS sports teams. Often times the friends would come back later and help clean up. So unless they were destroying things I would of just let things be.
