Fluoride and tap water

My DD had her 6 month appointment yesterday and I asked if she should be getting fluoride drops. My pediatrician said she'll get fluoride in her (tap) water.
DD was EBF but we started giving solids at 5 1/2 months. Her pediatrician said we can give her an ounce or 2 of tap water while she eats.
I thought babies were only suppose to have bottled water (for mixing formula with and plain consumption)?
Anyone getting fluoride drops?
