Make up use

I called my Dr when I first found out I was pregnant to ask if I can use any make up. They told me to use whatever. I looked at my foundation today and I see it has salicylic acid in it. Should I be concerned? I'm 6 weeks. What brands do you use that are safe?

I love Bare Minerals. I *believe* it's all natural ingredients? I've used it through both of my previous pregnancies with no issues

I second Bare Minerals - love it. I also love the make-up from the Body Shop, as they use mostly natural ingredients as well.

My foundation has salicylic acid in it and I still use it. I use Almay, Physicians Formula, Cover Girl, and Ulta brand makeup. I used the same stuff when I was pregnant with DS, and I haven't changed a thing.

Did your doctor say any make-up was off limits? If your doctor wasn't concerned I wouldn't be worried.

I really only use concealer. I am still using apricot scrub which has a little salicylic acid in it but I stopped using my retinol cleansing wipes.

My esthetician told me my facewash is safe even with salicylic acid in it. She also works under a surgeon and he also said it was fine. I don't remember what the % is but it was under the danger threshold.

I was never warned about makeup use during pregnancy, and use anything I wish.

You might want to avoid peels and really aggressive skin treatments just because your skin might be more sensitive however makeup sold in stores to the general public that may contain those ingredients are not usually strong enough to warrant you to be worried. When in doubt bring the product information to your doctor and have them look at it.

I've been using the bare minerals liquid foundation! I will be using it for the rest of my pregnancy! It's a great foundation!

I don't use much make-up anyway, but I don't think there's enough of anything in most brands to warrant never using them. It's not like you're drinking it.

I second younique as well (I sell it) and the ingredients are safe in pregnancy.
