Have your feet grown?

I am getting a little concerned about my feet. I was wearing a 7 - 7.5 and now those are too tight (gave me bloody blisters) and I have to wear an 8. (Let me say they are Not too tight because of swelling, I have hardly any swelling) My concern is that after birth my feet won't go back to a 7 and I will have to get rid of 20+ pairs of shoes (that I love dearly)!!! :( I'm wondering have your feet grown, please discuss below how much and if you're a STM did your feet go back to their original size after baby??

  • Usually a 6.5 Everything I've bought in the last few months have been a 7. Not a huge change but it makes for a closet full of uncomfortable shoes! I think they've gotten wider, not so much longer.

  • Mine got about a size bigger when I was pregnant with DD. They didn't go back to normal size :(

  • I was a 8/8.5 before and had to buy my first pair of size 9 shoes last weekend because I couldn't force my feet into my shoes anymore.  I'm also so worried about having to get all new shoes post-pregnancy, I love my shoe collection!!

  • My feet got swollen in the last few weeks with DS, and I wore flip flops 24/7.  It took about 4 to 6 weeks post partum before all of my shoes fit again.  In the end, my feet were the same size after pregnancy as they were before pregnancy.

  • I haven't noticed my shoes being any tighter. My regular pre-pregnancy shoe size is 11, so I'm not exactly sure what I would do if my feet did grow. Wear the shoe boxes, I guess.

This! I wear a 10 now and have been worried my feet would grow since I got my BFP.

I voted my feet haven't grown, but now I'm afraid I've tempted fate... :)

  • My feet grew with DD and am very sorry to say theu never went completely back to normal. I went from a 8 to a 9 and then did go back to an 8.5 but I had to get rid of nearly all my shoes :(( I haven't noticed that they have grown with this pregnancy but I've mainly been wearing sandals and flip flops.

  • I voted they haven't changed... But I am too scared to actually check. I have been living in flip flops and runners... Haven't noticed a difference in those so I am praying they haven't changed.

  • I've gone from a 5.5 to a 6.5 and am very sad about it because I have sooo many shoes that I absolutely love. For now I'm wearing flip flops or the one pair of black pumps I bought. I'm hoping they go back down and expect they will at least a bit because right now they just look puffy and swollen =/

  • My feet have been a little swollen, but everything still fits. I think I'll just wait and see. I'm just hoping my shoes end up fitting better than they typically do. I'm really a size 5, but most shoes start in a 5.5 or 6 so I buy the smallest size and just add padding or thick socks to make them tolerable.
  • Pretty sure I've gone up at least a shoe size. I'm even hanging off the end of my flip flops! :(

Flip flops and one pair of orange ballet slippers (they were my SF Giants game day shoes) are all that fit right now. But there's only so many days in a row that you can wear orange shoes without people thinking I'm a pregnant duck :-SS

  • Went up a size and they're a little wider now.  :(

  • Prior to DD I wore a 7.5. After her I was an 8. Currently I am wearing a 9 (but it is due to recent swelling) but I imagine I will be an 8.5 once the swelling subsides. Most people I know had their feet go up in size- but not everyone. And, yeah, it sucks. I lost many lovely pairs of shoes. :(

  • Yeah, I was a 9W / 9.5W pre-pregnancy, and in addition to swelling, my feet are both longer and wider. Lucky me. Depending on the brand, I now wear anything from 9.5W to 11W. And some evenings I can't squeeze my feet into any of my shoes after I take off my work shoes, so I just wear Dearfoams stretchy ballet slippers.

  • I voted SS because while I don't think my feet have grown this pregnancy (although I haven't worn anything but flip flops since April or so), they did grow when I was pregnant with my oldest two, and they never went back down.

  •  Yes, mine went up in size and never went back-I was size 7 before I had kids. After the five (before this) I lost all the weight (I was within abot 5 lbs of my wedding weight) but the feet stayed at 8 wide.

I'm not a shoe person so I didn't really care except I have to get wide shoes for work.
  • YES!  I just had to buy a new pair of boots, in a size up from last year.  So sad.

  • I voted SS. I wear flip flops most of the time, if I wear shoes at all while around the house. Some shoes seem to make my feet swell more than others, but for the most part I think my feet may just be wider.
I just bought a new pair of sneakers (or do you say tennies?) in my normal size but they're not really a good indicator since they're so forgiving. I haven't braved many dress shoes, but they mostly seem to fit okay, or at least the same as before. I think.
    Sheesh, I'm long-winded today!
    Short answer: I dunno.
  • My shoes do feel a bit more snug now. I realized about a year ago I was wearing a half size too big after having DD, so I'm not sure when it happened exactly but they did shrink after having her!
  • Still size 11. I have huge feet.

  • My shoe size was a 6 before BFP. I'm now a 7,8,9...whatever is comfortable. I actually almost had a breakdown yesterday because I found a perfect pair of Michael Kors gold flats at Belk on-sale for $59!! They only had a size 6 1/2 though. I used to be soo lucky when it came to sales because they always had my size. :(( :((

  • I may or may not have an out-of-control shoe habit. My feet haven't grown, but if they do, LO will be saving her allowance for years to pay me back for the 100+ pairs I'll lose :(
  • I am kinda weird. My feet have most definitely gotten a bit bigger, but it's been a relief to me. Before, I would need a 6.5 wide and usually end up in a 7/7wide because I couldn't find my actual size. I know I've grown, as the sandals I bought at a 7.5 wide now fit perfectly, maybe even a bit small, instead of being a little too long.

I'm thrilled, because this means I can look in size 8's, which I find much easier to shop in. I also rarely own more than three pairs of shoes at any point (tennis/hiking shoes, dress shoes, and sandals), so it's not a huge loss/cost for me to switch sizes.

I haven't had any swelling in my feet and I hope I don't got back down.

  • I haven't been able to fit into any shoes except flip flops since 20 weeks due to swelling. I hope after the swelling is gone that I can fit in my shoes! I love wearing boots in the winter time and that will be expensive to replace :/
  • My feet grew the first time. They did shrink down a bit after I have birth, but they're still bigger than they were. This time they haven't grown thankfully. I'm already a size 11!

  • My feet are massive. I usually wear an 8 but I cant even squeeze into a 9W. I've been rocking sandals for months now and I don't know what I'm going to do when I have to wear real shoes soon.

Also, with all the swelling I am getting a little worried about pre e. I haven't had any indications prior to these last 2 weeks but the swelling is taking longer and longer to go down. Guess Dr will let me know Thursday if it is something to worry about.

  • My feet grew with DS. They didn't go back afterwards either.

So far this pregnancy they have not "grown" but they are a little thicker with swelling/weight gain.

  • I voted SS because I'm still rocking the gladiator sandals! I wouldn't know! We'll find out once it actually starts getting cool... I haven't tried on any boots, or non-sandal shoes so I have no idea. Wish me luck! haha!

I will say I don't have visible swelling, except occasionally. And my shoe size didn't change last time around.

  • My feet def haven't grown, but they ARE swollen.  I know this because I can get the shoes on but by the end of the day getting them off gets tough.  I've completely stopped trying to wear close-toed shoes and I now only wear flip-flops.  I DARE someone to try and get me in trouble for this at work!  I think I'll get a doc note so I can wear them w/o concern :)

  • I was wearing sandals up til three days ago because they had grown a bit and open toe was more comfortable. Now my feet are so swollen that I had to go buy new shoes, as even flip flops were too tight! Wtf? As pp have said, really hope they return to normal (I know the swelling part will, at least) because I do love me some shoes, and I can't afford to restock my closet!
  • So I pretty much only fit into flip flops and my sneakers if I don't tie them tight...I live entirely in flip flops at this point in time. I had very skinny feet prior to getting pregnant and now my feet are wider and the recent swelling has made it so much worse. I am up at least one size, maybe two. So anyway...who wears shoes anymore?!
