LO has never had an issue with pacifiers (her sister was not interested). Suddenly starting this weekend she wants nothing to do with them. She gets some pissed off if I try to pop one in her mouth.
Same here. She used to take one after nursing while falling asleep for nap - suddenly she thrashes her head around like I am trying to stick a hot poker in her mouth.
She does fall asleep without it though and I can hear and see her sort of sucking on an imaginary one - its pretty cute.
DD is totally fickle about pacifiers. For the first month or so she found them completely offensive and would get mad if I tried to give her one. Then suddenly she went nuts for them and wanted it all the time. Now she only wants them right as she is falling asleep for a nap and she spits it out as she is about to fall asleep. She won't take it any other time and never takes it when falling asleep at night. And it has to be he Mams. No others will do. Next week it will probably change again. I have a feeling this girl is going to be quite the diva when she gets older.
Both my kids started refusing them when they started teething (so right about 5.5 months for each of them). It's frustrating for a while (especially when/if you become the Human Paci), but then it's pretty sweet not to have to stress over weaning them off.
E only took it for a month or so. After that month if I tried putting it in her mouth she'd stick her tongue out all the way so there's no chance of it staying in. But she absolutely loves her molar muncher! She needs me to comfort suck to be able to fall asleep though so that's bittersweet.
