Jackson Frederick's birth story (rebennett06)

First off thank you for all the thoughts and prayers during l&d and to my labor buddies who kept everyone updated! Jackson and I both just got home and are enjoying each other very much!

I was scheduled to be induced on Thursday 9/18 at 6pm, starting with the cervadil tablet and then starting pitocin in Friday morning. That's where everything started to go wrong! We got a phone call adjusting our time to 8pm, when we show up they say it well be another hour or so, to still stay off food or water. At 2am, they come in and unhook my monitors and tell me to get some rest. 5am on Friday, they move me rooms and get me started. They ended up using a cytotec tablet and when they check me 4 hours later, no change. So at 10am they start the pitocin. Things went quick after that! I went from 2cm to 4cm from 10-1230, they broke my water at 12:30 and my contractions ramped up considerably. I was having them for over a minute long and less than a minute apart, and even though i had planned to labor naturally, by 1:30 I asked for an epidural. They got the epidural in within 15 minutes, then checked me where, to everyone's surprise I was at 9cm. I felt so much better after the epidural, although I honestly think if the contractions were a little more spaced out I would have been able to go without. So at 4pm, they checked me, I was at 10cm, and they let me rest (hadnt slept the night before bc I was waiting to induce all night! ) before starting to push at 5pm.

Pushing started at 5pm, with everyone thinking we would see him within minutes because I was progressing so well. I pushed for 3 hours with no change in station, and by that time my epidural was gone and i was exhausted. Baby boys heart rate was dropping with every contraction and was no longer raising back up, so my dr took me back for a c section that I do not really remember. I was shaking too bad to hold him until we were in recovery, but once I was able to I was so in love!
The whole birthing experience was not at all what i planned or expected, but im glad he is here and safe! Thanks for listening to my rambling story! ! I'm going to try and add a picture now!
