Pregnant after a Loss

progesterone question

I called in my 200mg progesterone suppository refill first thing Saturday morning. Sometimes it takes them a few hours to get it together so she told me to come any time after 3. I must have misunderstood her because when I got there at 3:15 they had closed! I panicked because I only had one for Saturday night and none for Sunday. I called the on-call RE and she called in a prescription of Crinone 8% at Walgreens since none of the other compounding pharmacies are open on weekends. She assured me that it would be fine and I even called the nurse this morning for more reassurance. I'm just so nervous to screw anything up. I'll be 7 weeks tomorrow and I can't help but think I've made it this far because of the progesterone. The part that worries me the most is that I take my regular suppository every night and this you have to take in the morning. I took it this morning so now I'm just giving myself an anxiety attack that there won't be enough left in there to make it all the way until Monday night. Does this make sense? Have any of you ladies skipped a day or been late taking a dose? I am definitely calling in my refills way in advance from now on!

One more thing: my regular suppositories are 200mg and the Crinone 8% says it's only 90mg. The nurse was so sweet and reassured me but it's still just doesn't make sense to me.

  • I intentionally "miss" the night before I have labs drawn per my doctor's instructions. I have labs drawn every other week, so I skip 1 dose every other week. I wouldn't worry too much.

  • I was on Crinone 8% and I always took mine at night. I tried it once in the morning and I felt like it all fell out within a couple hours. When I was first prescribed it I talked to one of my nurses about Crinone vs a generic compound, because I wasn't sure how much my insurance would cover. She said my OB really prefers the name brands over a compound because they are more reliable and potent. (Not saying that the compounds don't work, that's just what my OB prefers)

  • @kjsbabe I think I agree with you! I felt so nauseous all afternoon yesterday and I'm thinking the Crinone must have been more potent. I may switch to Crinone now since the price is about the same for me with insurance and I do like the applicators.

  • I may be wrong but I believe the cronine is more potent/direct. I've only ever used cronine and LOVE it (though does it make nausea worse?). Make sure you use it at night though. I've also skipped a dosage for the exact same reason and was told the same. :)
