As many of you know, one of our beloved bumpies' (
@aragosta) son, Lucas Michael, was born sleeping on 9.23.13. In his honor, please perform a random act of kindness this week and post about it here so our
@aragosta can see how the memory of her beautiful son has helped brighten people's lives.
:x
Re: Acts of Kindness week, in honor of Lucas Michael (@aragosta)
I brought cupcakes into work this morning to celebrate baby Lucas. It's like a little birthday party in the office for him today.
This wasn't my official RAK for him, but rather one of a few this week.

I just hope they don't think I'm a stalker
I was giving the cabbie directions on which way I wanted to go to work and he proceeds to tell me it's his first week driving. He took on a second job because his wife is due with their 4th child (she's due next month)! As we drove through Central Park I learned that he's a paramedic and will now be driving cabs during his days off. I also learned that his wife is a nurse; they met at work (I told him how Greys Anatomy that was of them!) He said it was love at first sight and after 4 dates he proposed! Today is their 15th wedding anniversary! At the end of my ride when I tried to hand him money for his new baby he didn't want to accept it and I said it was in honor of a friend of mine who lost her son and then he says "I just lost my dad two months ago" and he shows me the screen saver on his phone and he starts tearing up telling me he died of cancer. I insisted that he take the money and got out of the cab. I never got his name but I know that he was the one that was meant to be blessed in honor of Lucas!
Long Story Short... I tipped my cab driver $100 today in honor of Lucas
**cue ugly cry. You are amazing. That is such a beautiful story. I can just imagine that he'll be overjoyed in telling his children about you.
My RAK today was putting an extra dollar in someone's parking meter as it had run out and the parking attendant was out ticketing. I don't think it quite compares to tipping $100, but I thought of Lucas while doing it
