Water softeners During wash

Can I use Calgon liquid if I use Tide powder? I don't have a detergent slot. I just put it in the drum. All I can envision is a paste in my washing drum.

Right now I'm using borax. Just curious.

    You could try pre-dissolving the powder. Or, if you have a TL, fill it a little bit before you add the Calgon and the powder detergent, so they disperse a little and don't get a chance to clump.
