This! Although after 20 weeks, your baby is big enough to start cutting off blood flow in your back and major arteries when you lay on your back or stomach. You should get a body pillow at least to help keep you sleeping on your side all night.
Body pillows do help, I was having the problem of rolling onto my back, my stomachs to big to be rolling on my stomach. It keeps me on my side all night now!

I've never heard this about sleeping on your stomach.
Neither have I. I still can't fall asleep unless I'm on my stomach. I start on my stomach and throughout the night I roll to a side. Meh I'll ask my OB today

Yea I think its only in regards to sleeping on your back, and at about 20 wks is where you should start to avoid it. I think sleeping on the stomach is just uncomfortable... at least for me it is at this point.

I got a snoogle and was still having a hard time sleeping through the night. I don't like one leg over the other no matter if there is a pillow between. I sort of sleep on my belly but cheat with on leg up on the snoogle if that makes sense. It gives the baby plenty of room and I can actually get some sleep. I've always slept on my stomach with one leg up so this is very comfy for me. I am guessing by 28 weeks it won't be an option though but the snoogle will be able to support my bump on my side. Right now I don't have enough of a bump to put the snoogle under it and laying on my side feels really uncomfortable because all my weight shifts to that side.
We are all different sizes. I have a long abdomen and am barely showing. At 20 week I can't lay flat on my belly without feeling like there is a cantaloupe in there but I can easily lay with one leg propped up. Sometimes I wake up on my back and just readjust. Or sleep on my back but with my weight shifted more towards one hip or the other so I'm sort of in a back/side position. I do this with my back supported by the snoogle. You can also just prop yourself up.
It's not just for sleeping, try to keep your position in mind when just laying on the couch or exercising too.
I havent had a good night's sleep in weeks. Normally im a belly sleeper and during the night I'd roll onto my back. Both positions are uncomfortable and when I sleep on my side I wake up with a numb body part. And to top it all off, I have an infection on my foot and I can only sleep with it proped up. I was thinking about the body pillow but there is barely enough room on the bed for my boyfriend and I (we downsized the bed to make room for a crib) Sigh
I'm trying to get use to sleeping on my side, but it's soooo hard! I'm such belly sleeper. Whenever I do get to sleep, I seem to roll onto my belly anyway -_- I've gotten grief about it from family who've caught me napping.
