NBR Air Force question

Sorry I know this might be answered better somewhere else but, I recall seeing some military families on here and thought I'd give it a shot. DH just got our assignment to Spangdahlem Germany for next year. We are currently stationed at Andersen AFB Guam. I was told we should qualify for consecutive overseas tour (COT) tickets. Well, his supervisor says he doesn't qualify for the COT entitlement because it wasn't in his DEROS RIP. Which doesn't make any sense to me .. I am just trying to see if we will qualify to be sent to our home of record with the COT entitlement because Guam to Mi and Mi to Spang. is going to cost an arm and a leg..  DH will be going to MPF when the guy who deals with this stuff gets back from leave (not sure when). Anyone know anything that could help clear things up?

  • Sorry, can't really help you.  The only thing I can think of is that Anderson, being technically part of the US, is one of those things that counts as OCONUS for some things but not others?  But I have no idea.

  • That was also the only thing I can come up with. We get OHA and they tell us it's "overseas". It's not like in Alaska where they count it as a weird overseas/not overseas location. We did qualify for IPCOT (In place consecutive overseas tour) but decided against it, so I guess I can't understand why we wouldn't qualify for the COT entitlements.

I am ecstatic about going to Germany! I hear Spangdahlem is amazing. I'll have to send everyone some wonderful German "glass art" ;)

  • No idea but totally jealous! When I was in the Air Force I went from a town in the middle of no where in Texas, Alabama, then ohio. I wanted to see the world. :((
