group gift thank you?

DH and I both had showers at work. My coworkers game me a group gift and his provided a lunch, cash, and some individuals gave gifts.

I know the individuals will get thank you'd but for the group gift...DH will get one card because there are more than 35 people and we have no way of knowing who contributed. My team is much smaller though but not all local...is it OK to do a group thank you?

    We had the same issue when DH's coworkers provided lunch and gave gifts. We didn't know who actually contributed. There were only 8 guys though. He ended up buying them 3 dozen donuts and juice.

    When this happened at my shower I wrote individual thank you notes to everyone who contributed. I just thanked them for coming and for the group gift.

    I work at an elementary school and the grade level teams always do group gifts for showers. It has been customary for there to just be a group thank you card.

    It common to send a group thank you card around since everyone just gave toward the gift card. But I am giving individual thank yous to the people at work that gave me something separate from that card. Which reminds me that I have some outstanding. Not complaining but it seems like almost every day I get something for the baby!

    I wrote individual thank you for group gifts, at work it was ~10 people. I assume if their name is on the card, they contributed.

    I wrote individual thank you cards. They were short but I don't think people are any less deserving of an individual thank you because they contributed to the group gift. I think I wrote a little over 20. But, I did know who contributed to the group gift so your situation is different. I think DH only gave thank you cards to his two supervisors that bought expensive individual gifts. He doesn't listen to me regarding this type of thing.

    I wrote individual thank you cards for the women in the office and then did a group thank you by leaving brownies in the kitchen with a thank you taped on the lid.  It went over well.
