@Vinny424 You're a points leader this week so far! Just noticed that. Had to point it out.
Anyway, I'm the type of person who would want to know because I feel like not knowing would make me look silly to other people. But... if you don't know, then how can you know that you'd want to know, ya know?
February Siggy Challenge: Favorite TV couple ~ Jim & Pam
When I was younger I was alllll about never being fake.
Now that I am older and have so many other stressors I feel like. Ignorance is bliss. I'm not great with confrontation and either way someone is talking smack, but if I knew about it it would make the situation more difficult bc i'd have to deal with it an ain't no one got time for that right now.
(I'm not "hip" and don't know what constitutes talking smack vs. normal complaining about a friend so I may be completely off base with my answer)
For me, ignorance is bliss. If we're getting along, even if it's just cordial, then I don't need or want to know what they're saying. Most likely if they're saying truly hurtful things about me we're not that close and I'm also talking smack about them.
I don't think I would. Unless it was hurtful enough to ruin the relationship. If you don't like my new haircut or think I am chubby or being a helicopter parent--- don't care. Come to think about it... Not sure I do care to know!!! (Unless like @Vinny424 said, unless someone was hurt by something I said or did).
May the Fourth Be With You: Our 5-4-14 Baby: Andrew Joseph
I guess it depends on who said it, what was said and why it was said... and honestly, even what I'm dealing with at the moment and what I can emotionally handle. I'm generally a knowledge-is-power sort of personality... I like to watch the needle go into my arm, I like to look into the toilet (ew!), etc... but there's definitely a time and a place to just glide right past any gossip about yourself.
Ignorance is bliss.t while in HS if I found out someone talked crap it cut me to my core. Now I just ignore it, I don't have time for any of that nonsense.
I would want to know. Maybe it'd benefit me in some way so I could check myself, or if it were ridiculous it would be funny. I dont take myself to seriously so whatever, bring it on. We all throw shade, you talk about me chances are I or someone else is all up in your business too.

It's really not a simple yes or no question.
I'm in the sensitive camp I hate knowing someone doesn't like me or resents me for some reason.
