  I like prefolds and covers for the nb stage. 

  GMD prefolds and Thirsties and Assunta covers.

  Flats (newborn kite fold) with RaR newborn covers and/or blueberry newborn covers. I also love my Thirsties Duo size 1 once his legs cubby up a bit. Flats are great because now that my baby is only pooping 2-3 times a day my favourite diapering style is pad folded flats in tuckable covers (Blueberry Capri's).
  
  The flats will truly last from birth to potty learning, and are also way trimmer on a newborn than a pefold. I'm not a big fan of prefolds on newborns, it's just too bulky for my taste.
  
  But now that he is a bit bigger I like our infant sized prefolds for certain times of day and overnight.

  With DS we used prefolds and thirsties covers. I am not sure what we will use with this LO in addition to prefolds. I had a few pockets for DH to use, since prefolds scared him. I would like to do some fitteds this time around as well.
