FF vs. Ovia - your opinion on the "window"

Hi ladies, I've been using both FF and Ovia. I've diligently used the BBT to chart. And I've also used wondfo OPKs.

FF and Ovia are almost a week apart on their predictions of my best days to be active. So, I was just curious how much do you ladies put weight on the "window" regardless of app? Like on a scale of 1-10 with 1=Relax and go with the flow and 10= super focused on it, where would you fall? And why?

I'm trying to decide how to balance the apps recommendations with not paying too much attention. TIA!

I know nothing of Ovia, but I used to use some other flowery app before FF and by far FF has been more accurate in predicting my fw than the other one. Obviously the more data you put into FF the better the predictions will be.

I pay attention to its prediction in terms of vacations and such, so I can have an idea of what I might be dealing with (period vs fw vs nothing), but I really do rely on my temps/opks/cm to help me as I approach the fw because you never really know when it will be. FF predicted my O day to be CD15 and this time it was CD19.

So on your scale I would fall around a 4?

Ovia never showed me a clear line of when I ovulated. I deleted it after 1.5 cycles.

FF is pretty accurate at estimating my fertile window now that I've put in 4 cycles. So I trust it. Plus I use OPKs.

Thanks ladies! This is really helpful. I've been admittedly pretty neurotic about using them both. Maybe I should remove Ovia and dial my focus back a bit from like an 8 to closer to a 5.

I used a BBT thermometer for three months straight before switching to just OPKs. But I haven't been disciplined about tracking CM. Maybe you're right about there not being enough info.

I thought temping for 3 months would be sufficient to find my best day(s). So would you say I need to temp until I get a bfp no matter what? Thanks.

I felt guilty about my thermometer disturbing DH at 5:30am when I wake for work. But if that's the only way to be sure I'll have to talk to him about it. I also seemed to feel more deeply let down after FF rated me high with no resulting bfp.

He doesn't say anything. But I sense that he's annoyed in the morning. And when I stopped he seemed happier.

I absolutely appreciate the feedback. And I do like FF more than Ovia. I'm just trying to figure out the best way to explain the importance to DH.
