I'm totally the person freaking out over backpacks!!! And my work shoes. All I can say when I was 18 I worked for AAFES and I cleaned those pump handles every night when I burped the pumps at closing time.

Really old pumps have to be burped. So when the master pump is off you stretch the hoses and squeeze the handle to release what gets traps in retrofitted vapor guards.

I always use hand sanitizer after using a gas pump, shopping basket, anything publically used basically. I've trained my husband to always put the lid down before flushing, and I do it too. I leave it at that and pretend that nothing gets on the toothbrushes. It really works! :-bd

A liter of anal gasses? That is a fact I could really do without knowing. Most of the others I knew already. I stopped taking birthday cake at kids' parties long ago when I saw a boy literally spit all over the cake while blowing out the candles.

I'm in NJ, so check the box on gas pumps. And my bathroom has a separate room for the toilet vs the sinks/shower/tub, so that's another win.

All this and I work in a hospital, and I've only been sick once in the last 18 months that was a minor cold. Germs smerms!
