Mucus plug? Bloody show? What is it?

Had the group b strep screening on Wednesday and NP mentioned there would be a little blood in discharge... It's now Sunday and when I wipe after using the restroom the discharge on the paper has a little brown tinge. I wipe again and no more discharge. I've had the weirdest on and off stomach aches (almost like diarrhea) the past few days as well. Maybe braxton hicks? Definitely not eating anything out of the ordinary. Just wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this? I feel as if baby wants to come out soon! ahhhhhhhhhh!

Possible early labor? Check with your MW or Dr if the pain continues or is rhythmic. Losing your plug days or weeks before labor is very normal, though.

Yes I did have a cervical check. She checked head down and I'm 1cm dilated. I emailed my dr. Thanks so much!

Sounds to me like it was caused by the cervical check, which is completely normal and means nothing in regards to when labor will happen. I would look more for contractions to indicate labor. Bloody show/mucus plug is usually a light red or pinkish.

I always bleed after a cervical check. I wouldn't worry.

I had actually looked it up before and my eyes were assaulted with pics of various mucus plugs. Never again. Though, at least I know what to look for now? I guess..
