  I finished it awhile ago since I skipped the last book. Of course, now I'm forgetting a lot of it so I read through a short synopsis.
  
  I didn't realized that the main character/narrator was never named. Did anyone else miss that point too?
  
  It took me a little while to get I to the book. The suicide at the beginning turned me off. It wasn't until the coin got lodged in his throat that I started becoming vested in the book. I was also grossed by the worm in the kid's foot, especially when he was pulling it out. I'm a nurse and I had trouble listening to that part. I almost fast-forwarded through it.
  
  I found Lettie and her family very interesting. They remained calm when the kid was being tormented. Even when Lettie almost died, they acted like everything was ok.
  
  I was hoping there would be a book to follow this.

  Oooh! I didn't realize this was the current book, but I read it last summer, shortly after A was born.
  
  Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors, so I sort of knew to be patient with the beginning (which also turned me off).
  
  I thought he did a really good job with Lettie's family. They were supposed to have been around forever, so it makes sense that things wouldn't ruffle their feathers.
  
  The whole thing seemed like an imago note kid's way to deal with things going on in his life that he didn't like. As if the narrator had created a fantasy world to deal with what's happening in his family.
  
  If you liked this book at all, I highly recommend his others. Stardust, Coraline, and The Graveyard Book are my favorites.

  I really liked this one. It did a great job at describing just enough to get your imagination going.
  
  I wanted to punch the kids parents the whole time I really enjoyed remembering how things were when I was a kid, how your perspective is so different and your imagination is so huge.
