Houston Babies

MDO in NW Houston?

Ok, so I was going to put Amelia in MDO, but it seems she has to be 11 months as of September 30 for the one I was going to enroll her in.  Is that the case with most/all?  Do you know of one that will take them on a different schedule?  She's 12 months and I'd like to enroll her now if possible.

Re: MDO in NW Houston?

  • ours takes children as young as 6 weeks (probably because they also offer day care).....  However, ours in on the West side of town...

  • My friend has her son in a MDO in the Spring-Cypress/ 249 area which if I recall is near you. He's been going there since he was 12-13 months old. I'll try and find out the name. I only know that it is affiliated with a Methodist church and they have the option of 1, 2 or 3 days per week.

  • Champion Forest Baptist Church takes very young babies. ?My dd went there went she was 5 months old.
  • My MDO (not on the NW side, of course) also doesn't accept them until they are 1...so if they aren't one by Sept. 1st, they have to wait until the next year to enroll. Weird....

  • Here is the info for the one I mentioned above. It's in the 1960/Champions Forest area, not 249 as I thought.

  • Some are really rigid like that, but there are lots of them around that take babies who are much younger, or at least take them as soon as they turn the minimum age (which can be anywhere from 6wk, 6mo, 12mo, or 18mo!)

NW Houston is a pretty vague area - Cypress, Jersey Village, Tomball... or what's the closets major intersection?

I live in NW Houston (290 and Hollister), but I actually take DD to MDO in Spring Branch at St Christophers Day School near Blalock and Longpoint. Eloise LOVES her teacher there and I've been happy with the school. I'm pretty sure they start at 6wk, but definitely by 6mo.
