Indianapolis moms??? Or nearby

My husband just accepted a new job in Indianapolis so we will be moving in the next few months from Cincinnati. Any advice on where to live? Which school districts are best? Which should we avoid? I would like to stay on the east or south side to be near 74 for easy trips back to Cincinnati but would live north or west if they are better places to live. Any advice is welcome! Thanks!

  • @mommyofmac‌ I have been here since the beginning but not very active-lots of lurking though! I have been very MIA since LO was born but thanks for the re-welcoming :-) I would really appreciate it if you could ask your family. We want a house in a good location so we don't have to move in a few years when LO is ready for school. Thanks for your help!

  • I lived in Indy for 4 years. I would avoid the east side. We lived on the north side and loved it! I think all the Indy public schools are pretty bad. North of the city, Fishers and Noblesville are popular places to live with good schools. You can easily jump on 465 and then 74 to get back to Cincy. Good luck!
  • Hi @rileypie!  So excited for you.  I grew up in Indianapolis and lived there for ten years after college.  Like the previous poster said, the North side is the best!  Carmel public schools and the city of Carmel would be the best place to live.  In terms of just places to live, Fishers and Noblesville are good places to live too, but Carmel schools are among the best in the state.  I would avoid the south and east sides. :( Feel free to message me if you have more questions.  I loved Indianapolis and the surrounding suburbs and miss it!
  • Thanks ladies! @mommaofmultiples‌ I sent you a PM
