Sleep Regression ??

HELP !! Our DD is 15months about to 16months in two weeks. Has been sleeping through the night since 6weeks. Has NEVER woken up in the middle of the night, I can count on one hand how many bad nights of sleep she has had since she started sleeping through the night .... UNTIL THIS WEEK!

DD has woken up in the middle of the night more times this week than in her whole lifetime thus far. She wakes up inconsolable, screaming and crying until we come in and get her. We end up bringing her in bed with us, which is totally something new for all of us. I love having her snuggle, but at the same time I do not want to create any bad sleeping habits. Is anyone else going through this? I thought it might be her molars which are coming in, but we've tried hylands teething tablets and gel and she still seems to be waking in the middle of the night. And it's not every night, and it's not the same time. I'm at a loss! I've read about the 18month sleep regression, but could it happen early???

Help, we want our good sleeping back!

Re: Sleep Regression ??

  • Oh thank god I thought we were the only ones. I'm right with you @subliminalrabbit‌ we've stayed away from CIO this whole time but there's something about this time where I have far less patience and I'm willing to put DD in her own bed and walk away. Only problem is when she's hysterical she shits. Every. Single. Time.

We just went through a mild sleep regression. We sleep trained at 7 months. It wasn't terrible, but she was refusing naps and taking over an hour to go down at bedtime a couple of nights. She also woke in the MOTN a couple of times which is unusual for her. It only lasted a couple of weeks. Just power through it, it won't last forever.

eta: I also think teething might be part of it, so I was giving her a dose of ibuprofen about a half hour before bed, and that seemed to help.
