first baby Early in pregnancy bump already is big. anyone else?

Im believed to b a little over 14 weeks due to baby size, but my bump is already big, and ultrasound shows only one baby, I read if you have twins or if this is your second pregnancy it will get big fast but this is my first successful pregnancy with one baby . Last pregnancy was 4 years ago but did not develope into a fetus before miscarriage. Anyone else is the same way?

I'm a bit confused- is your doctor saying you're 14 weeks based on an ultrasound? Or just guessing?

At this point you may have a tiny bump but bloat and any excess weight can make it appear bigger. It also depends on your build, a shorter torso can show a bump faster than a longer torso, for example. Everyone is different.

I am 25 weeks pregnant with my first and I would say that I started showing at around 8 weeks but at 12 is when you could definitely tell I was pregnant. Like some of the lady's said, everyone's body is different and every baby is positioned different. I'm carrying very very low so that may be why in started showing as early as I did. But then again my doctor said my baby is quite big too.

Every woman is different. There are all sorts of reasons you might be showing early -

Excessive weight gain, bloating, forward tilted uterus, short abdomen, being very thin where something the size of a grapefruit would really show, or wanting to show early

The last one is what I think is most common. The mind is a powerful thing. You know you are pregnant so you are no longer sucking in. You are standing with a curve in your back and hands on your belly - looking and hoping for a bump to show. Not saying this is you, but I know girls personally who have posted "6 week" baby bump pics that are obviously just bloat. If you are growing correctly, at 14 weeks your uterus is barely above your pubic bone. In other words, it is still below your pants button. It is not until 20 weeks that it should reach your navel and have an obvious baby bump with your first baby. But once again everyone is different and it doesn't mean something is wrong.

I thought I was showing at 13 weeks. It was just bloating. I looked not pregnant at all from 13-17 weeks. Only now do I have a tiny real bump (hard, can not be sucked in, low in my belly) but still not where someone else would congratulate me. It looks big to me when I look down but it is hardly there at all. My last prenatal appointment my midwife said I am literally growing perfectly by the books. But then one of my midwives is pregnant with her 4th and only 1 week ahead of me. She looks very obviously pregnant - like 6+ months.

So many factors can determine when you get that bump. With my first I was definitely getting a bump early, 13/14 weeks. This time I don't feel like I'm showing at all except late in the evening after a big dinner, but that's pretty much me pre-pregnancy, too. So the whole idea that you show earlier with the second isn't true for everyone!

But a lot of it is perception, too. I thought I was a giant whale at 36 weeks and people kept commenting on how tiny my bump was for being so close to the end.

I was visibly pregnant at 5 weeks. At 11 weeks a stranger commented that I looked "at least 8-10 weeks away from delivery". I was legit big, but for me it was because I have four very large fibroids that grew super fast. I was told it was just bloat and would go away, but it never did, I just kept getting bigger.

I'm the same way as a few have mentioned: short torso. So I think I also started showing earlier too because well, where else is it going to go! But now I'm 17 weeks and have definitely "popped" where is it very noticeable that I'm pregnant. I think it's just different for everyone really!

This is my fourth pregnancy. Two live births and lost one at 19 weeks...and I'm pregnant now....even with my first, I got big fast. With this one, I have total strangers asking me if I'm carrying twins or I must be ready to pop any day....it's annoying but at the same time, out of my control and I have learned to embrace it! If you doctor isn't worried, you shouldn't be. Everyone 'pops' out differently.

Well on aug.21 doc measured baby n was 11 w 2d my last appointment was sept.17 my ob measured baby to be 15w 6d so today I am 16 weeks . I am short 5'2'' , thank you for all of your replies . But now I am a little afraid , ob felt a small mass I my left breasy, I have appointment tuesday for ultrasound on it. My family has a history of cancer, so im worried.

I'm 12 weeks and already poking out there quite a bit. I even had some co-workers comment that I am starting to "sprout". I'm very short so I figured I would show early.

Bloat is replaced with so you would just keep getting bigger.
