What are you making this weekend?

I'm starting to think about Christmas gifts.. I made this crocheted giraffe last week, and am planning to make some personalized giraffes for my niece and nephew. I also thought I cod easily turn this giraffe pattern into a reindeer. :)

Let's see those crafts and nursery projects!

    Ohhh my goodness, I LOVE giraffes! I would totally buy some of these from you if you were selling! :) So cute!

    In response to what you were actually asking lol, I am not making anything currently, although I try to do a cute Christmas ornament each year. One year I did a "melted snowman" ornament (clear glass ball ornament with salt, a tiny fake carrot, and some pepper corns that looked like coal!) Lol everyone seemed to enjoy those.

    I love melted snowman things! I was thinking of needlefelting some for little gifts. That glass ball idea sounds neat :)

    If I were to sell giraffes I'd be in good business - at least 20 people want one since I made that one. When I finish making them for gifts I might look into that - though my arm already feels like it's going to fall off from over-crocheting LOL

    Baby's nursery has a bit of a giraffe theme. :) I love them.

    Super cute giraffe! 

    I am still working on a ruffled crib skirt. I have to get enough essays graded to have a chance to work on it this weekend, though, so I might not get anything done on it until next weekend. 

    @mmheartspb mmmm candy corn cookies?! holy sugar overload, that sounds awesome. I hope the picnic in the park keeps you nice and distracted ;)

    That giraffe is so cute!! I wish that I knew how to knit or crochet.

    This past week I finished a banner to hang on the wall, I think it's called a bunting. Paper flags of different sizes and colors along a piece of twine that I'm going to hang above the crib. My mom made it as a decoration for my shower and I changed out and added some flags to match the nursery colors. I'm excited to pull everything in the room together over the next week or 2!

    I LOVE the giraffe & dino!! So stinkin cute!!  I am going to try to recreate this thing I saw on Etsy with buttons in her nursery colors in the shape of the letter of her first name - "P".  I'm using teal & hot pink buttons, mounted on grey paper in a white frame to bring in all the colors of her nursery.  Hope it turns out okay.

    @rox825 I've been thinking about making bunting flags for the nursery. I've seen them on Etsy - such a cute idea. :)

    Those are amazing! Did you use a pattern for the giraffe? I crochet a little bit, so I've been contemplating starting some projects, just for something to do. I could do a baby blanket, but everything I've heard says that crocheted baby blankets are not very practical or useful (thoughts??). The nursery will be nature-themed, so a few little crocheted animals could be great!

    @pblge‌ I can understand why crocheted blankets for babies isn't practical - little fingers getting caught in loops and all, but when made with certain types of yarn they can be perfect for snuggling, nursing, car seat covers... I used one with Finn made from this super soft Bernat brand ..it's really poofy, and super easy to crochet with.

    It was perfect to wrap him in for nursing. It's so soft, and bundles up like a pillow to prop baby on.

    It wouldn't be something I'd put in a crib, but for everything else it's great.

    I'm in the process of making a new blanket for this baby boy. I'm using a stitch called "Thistle" ...which I like because it's a nice tight weave, but also because in horticulture lore the thistle is often a symbol of protection.

    You can find that stitch (and thousands more) on stitchfinder.com ;)

    I have the pattern for the giraffe as a pdf.. If you pm me your email I could sent it to you. It was easy - all done in single crochet stitches. ;)

    I did a button letter for DD's room. It was super easy and turned out great. I think pink, teal, and gray will look really nice together!

    Super cute giraffe!  For Christmas gifts, I am making wristlet key chain things. I havent started on them because I am waiting on the hardware to arrive. Those are for the girls, and as of right now, I don't have any idea what to make for the guys. For my boys, I'll be making them each a new beanie. 

    For baby, I've made a hat, and I'm considering making the crib quilt and bumper. I've also dyed a few onesies, which reminds me that I still have a few more to dye... lol

    Ok so I decided today on my next nursery craft! I'm so not a crafty person so it's kinda weird that I keep coming up with ideas. I couldn't find a small lamp that I like in the right colors that's gender neutral, so I ordered a white base and shade and am customizing the shade with ribbon :) Like this, only in red, orange, blue, and green.
