Advice - clogged duct on underside of breast?

Hey ladies, while I feel like a veteran of most every breastfeeding ailment, I'm now enjoying my first clogged duct on the underside of my (currently enormous) breast.  Also, unlike previous clogged ducts, it's extremely tender as if it's terribly bruised.  To work out my previous clogs I (pretty aggressively) massaged during nursing and pumping sessions, in addition to massaging under the shower and whenever else I could.  I'm a little stymied about how to do that given the clogged duct's location.  Any suggestions??

  • I took a bath, let my boob sort of float up and hand expressed. Also cupping the breast during nursing/pumping with pressure and circular massage on the underside of boob.

  • I had this same thing at the beginning of last week!! What I did, that helped the most was to
    1. Take a super hot shower
    2. after you dry off, lay down on your back and hold a heating pad to the bottom of your breast.

I EP so I pumped like crazy, massaged, showered, and used the hot pad and after about 2 days it felt much better.
I'm sorry you are dealing with this and I hope you find relief soon!!

  • I used a heating pad and then my OB told me to fill a tube sock with rice and microwave it for about 45 sec. It gets hot like a heating pad but you can wrap it around your breast easier. It worked wonders
