High-Risk Pregnancy

Support Basket for newly diagnosed high risk pregnancy

My oldest and dearest friend was told she has an extremely short cervix (6mm) with her first pregnancy. The doctor did a cerclage and put her on progesterone but she is not on bed rest yet.

Any suggestions on things that would be helpful right now? I want to put together a little care package together for her and her husband. Are there common side effects or anything that I can get her stuff for? Or just suggestions on things that would make her life easier right now? I'm out of area but I've got a few people that are going to try and help with meals and cleaning.

Thanks!

  • Well right now if she is not on bedrest the care packages wouldnt help her with anything. The chores is the most important part in this stage of her pregnancy. Preparing her a bedrest care package is kind of jinxing her. Maybe she wont even need it. I think the best thing you can do now is continue to text and call her.

I have a weak cervix. I had a cerclage and was eventually put on bedrest from 20-36wks....but not everyone ends up needing bedrest

  • If she ends up on bed rest: Prepared meals, books, movies, an awesomely soft blanket, or nail polish (if she's into doing her nails and such). Really, anything to help pass the time or make her days easier.
Otherwise, prepared meals are still awesome!! :)
