Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Toddler sleeps too well?

My daughter was 18 months on the first and when she's home on the weekends she will take one 2-3 hour nap and then is ready for bed at 7 like clockwork and will sleep until anywhere from 7-8:30. I know 7-7 isn't crazy, but what about 7-8:30?? At daycare she tends to not nap or it's about an hour, so maybe she's just making up for that on the weekends...anyways just curious what your little ones do sleep wise at this age.

DS is 21 mo and sleeps from about 7:30-6:30 with a 2.5-3 hour nap.

  • DD will be 18 months on Oct 1st and she has about the same sleep pattern as your LO.  She's only in DC Tuesdays and Thursdays and naps in the middle of the day for about an hour an a half.  On M/W/F she is either with my mom or MIL and she'll nap either once in the middle of the day for close to 3 hours or split that between 2 naps.  The weekend nap times depends on what we're doing - she'll get short spurts in the car if we're running a lot of errands or if we're spending the day at home she'll usually just do one midday nap for about 2 hours.  Every night she goes to bed between 7pm and 8pm and wakes up every morning between 6:30am and 7:30am.  I love those 7:30am mornings but they're so unpredictable so they don't always coincide with days mommy can sleep in.
  • Sounds normal to me, I would not worry :)
  • That sounds just like my son! Ha I have actually wondered the same thing. He, however, does take the 2-3 hour nap every afternoon.
