Enfamil newborn is for up to 3 months. I don't know about other brands. The infant says 0-12 months though, so if I run out of newborn before he hits 3 months, I'm not that concerned.
It's designed for babies up to age 3 months, though it isn't very different from the infant formula that can just as easily be used from birth till age one anyway. But if you want to use the newborn you can. I would say for an average size baby they will go through about 9 12.5 oz cans a month, small babies may not need that many, larger babies may need more. To give you can idea my 6lb son, who is a month old will used 7 cans this first month.
The Enfamil newborn I have says through 3 months so it would be ok to stock up a bit, especially if you have those $5 coupons. I have Similac Coupons if you need them!

How do I get the $5 Enfamil Coupons. I did sign up for something on their website but haven't received anything
If you signed up online you should be getting them. I also got samples from my doctor and I can't remember but I may have sent my info to them snail mail. I got more from Similac then I did from Enfamil.
