There is a hypothetical link between taking Vitamin B6 and nausea. The purpose of the poll is to see whether the experiences on this board support that link or not. Thanks for voting!

  • Please leave any detailed commends below.  As for me, I take the Prenatal One which contains 600% of the daily recommended dose of B6, and so far, I've had no nausea (at 6w0d).

  • Thanks to those who voted so far - still a small sample but interesting to see!
  • I took B6 with my last pregnancy, and I feel like it helped with my nausea. I haven't started taking it with this pregnancy yet, but I probably will once morning sickness gets in full swing.

  • EIsieMae thanks for sharing that, good to know!
  • I take 50 mg B6 in the morning and in the evening. I've yet to have any nausea. Not sure if it's the reason, but since it doesn't hurt anything, I'm going to keep taking it.

  • In previous pregnancies the b6 and unisom helped with my nausea but I haven't had any yet.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • For separate reasons I was taking B6 before becoming pregnant, and was pleasantly surprised to find it can help with nausea after becoming pregnant.

  • I'm taking b6 now but it doesn't help. I'll be switching to zofran in the next few days if the b6 continues to not help
  • I took b12 to ease nausea in pregnancies past; b6 noticeably aggravated my nausea.. Causing projectile vomiting. I am so over it in pill form! I try to get it in organic foods.
  • I'm taking and did with my last preg take unisom and b6. However, I put myself in the severe group. I think it would work if my nausea wasn't so bad. But last time I took 8mg of zofran till the day I delivered. It's the miracle drug! ((Unisom def helps with sleeping thou!))
  • Thanks for all the responses! Seems like it helps a bit, but not always. It would be interesting if we got to 100 responses and then repeated this once everyone is further along (say, around 10-12 weeks).

    Hey ditto
  • Very cool to see these results!  I'm not sure they are particularly supportive of B6 (at this sample size anyway), but it's interesting just to see how many of us have severe, manageable and no nausea at this point. Thanks again for voting. I hope we can get a few more.
  • I voted severe and taking vitamin b6. My pills have 104% or 2.6 mcg I think...I have awful all day nausea sometimes with vomiting :( I'm going to see about getting meds at my next appointment. I'm 7w4d have had sickness since 6w0d.
  • I just started taking B6 besides what I get in my prenatel! Here's to hoping it works! The last couple days have been awful!

I take Diclegis which is a new medicine full of vitamin B and totally safe in pregnancy.  It's rated pregnancy category A and the only one that I could find.  Zofran is preg cat B and phenergan is preg cat C- neither of which I would take for fear of causing harm.
  • I tried the 50mg twice a day of B6 and wanted it to work so badly. When I first started taking it I really thought it helped but I think that was me wanting it to. It really didn't help me. My dr also said that it wouldn't work when I discussed it with him. My friend has 2 boys and took Zofran with them both. They are perfectly healthy.
  • I am taking an additional 50mg of B6 combined with half a unisom specifically for nausea.

This. I would say it is definitely taking the edge off.
