Lack of sleep is really catching up with me. Im exhausted by 8:30pm, crawl into bed only to stay awake till midnight. Then 2am and 4am im up peeing. I barely get back to sleep after my 4am wake up call. Today i havnt moved from the couch (only to get more food from the kitchen) working from home is great but at a very slow speed. My kids are due home from school soon, and all i want to do it take a nap.
Very tempting to use my iPhone/iPad & actually I did past 2 nights before being quite stern on myself But I really just keep the room dark, bedding light, window slightly ajar, & force my eyelids closed. Drives me a bit nutso (specially hearing DH sleeping restfully) but I eventually fall asleep.
I'm attributing my insomnia to a vicious cycle of night time insomnia coupled with mid day fatigue, which requires a nap that ends up going for 3-4 hours. I've tried the alarm clock, to keep the nap 30-40 minutes but I snooze in my sleep
I don't turn on any electronic devices. No TV, no phone, no computer, no Kindle. I might read one of our books on the couch, but for the most part I just stay in bed with my eyes closed. I know my mind will race, but once I turn something on I can forget about sleep.
Me too-- if I get up, I'm done. I do get about around 3 to pee. I usually just lay there, wishing I were asleep.
The first few nights I tried to just lay in the dark, but between ten pm and 3:30 am sleep wasn't happening. These days I read, until three days ago when I rediscovered skyrim. My 5:30 am alarm can be a pain, but hubby helps me get up! Gotta say, I love the weekends!!!
Re: Insomnia
I feel like when I finally get some sleep and when I need to get up. My pregnancy symptoms are much worse. It blows.
