So how are we supposed to brush these new little teeth?

Lo's first tooth is coming in so I just started reading a little about it. Many pediatric dentistry sites recommend starting to brush with the first tooth but don't recommend a type of toothbrush or toothpaste.

So what do you ST+Ms recommend and FTMs, what was recommended to you by your docs? Thanks!

rub with a washcloth! there are little rubber-bristled finger covers that you can use too.

We always just used those little finger brushes that are soft with no toothpaste.

My mom told me to use gauze! It's soft but textured so it's good for cleaning. Just wrap it around your finger and away you go!

DD and DS's pediatrician told me at their last appointments that newer material is suggesting that it's good to start "brushing" them with your finger (including a tiny little smear of fluoride toothpaste) as soon as they come in. The recommendation used to be no toothpaste at all until age 2.
