May 2015 Twins!

Hello May 2015 Moms! My husband and I just came out of our first appointment with some big news- TWINS! We do not have twins on either side of the family, so we are shocked, and excited....but mostly shocked. We are about 6 and a half weeks along and our doctor was really happy with the way everything looks.  Anyone else having twins in May 2015?

    Yes I'm 7 weeks 6 days with twins and I know we have at least one other momma with twins this month. Congratulations!

    I have a *feeling* there's two in there, but won't know for 3 weeks. I have no idea why I have this feeling...Twins don't run in my family. DH is a twin, but that doesn't mean anything.

    For some reason I have the same feeling! I'm only going to be four weeks tomorrow, so I won't know for a while but I really do feel like it's twins. DH has two sets of twin siblings! And for some reason I think he's going to take after his father!

    Twins actually run in my family and I am in line for them. We will see in about a week and a half!

    Yeah I heard that too, but my FIL had those two sets of twins with two different women, also he has twin cousins from the male side. So I'm not ruling anything out at this point haha!

    Congratulations! How did you find out they were twins? I don't have a scan until 12 weeks on the NHS..? Did you go private? X

    Thanks everyone! I am so glad to hear that some of you are expecting or already have twins- we don't have any friends or family members who have had twins so we are going to have lots of questions! @Istar111 they were able to get us in early because my husband is leaving the country for a few weeks and I wanted him at the appointment. Thank god he was there!

    Twins here too due May 14! I need to write down somewhere all the other twin moms! Are you freaking out? I am bc I'm a FTM. Freaking out in a good way though of course. The shock hasn't worn off yet either!

    I just had my first ultra sound at 6 weeks and they said it's kinda early but it looks like twins... Kinda crazy!

    @greks84‌ we are still freaking out! We laid in bed last night talking for 2 hours straight- just random thoughts that came in our heads. We are freaking out in a good way too. The dr said the heartbeats were really strong and everything looks great but I'm still a nervous wreck! Our twins are due may 9th!

    Congrats for all of the twins!!! Question: when/if you found out your hcg levels before your ultrasound... Were they particularly higher than normal? My doctor said that's the only way you might know before an ultrasound. I have two sets of twins on my moms side of the fam so I'm anxious to know if I was the one hit! Ha

    We are also having twins! Ours was not as spontaneous as we did IVF. We know through PGD that we are having a boy and a girl. I am 7w4d. Congrats to you! Do you have other children? We have a DD who will be 20/21 months when we deliver.

    @cmackay05‌ congrats!! we are right on track with you! Baby a measured 6w6d but baby b measured 6w4d, I am a little concerned about baby b but the dr said its fine.

    @Jazzyashes84‌ I have no ides what my levels were before we went in. We were completely blindsided by the need of twins. This Is our first pregnancy and I have been really sick, but we thought that was normal

    @Kerrie11378‌ congrats!! these will be our first! I've heard it's easier this way- because we won't know what it's like to only have one newborn. I so nervous for when they come, I can't imagine having a 20month old to take care of too!

    @Jazzyashes84‌ we did IVF FET so we knew there was a chance of two. I was pretty sure from first HCG at 9dp5dt it was 297. With prior a I never was over 100. But then at 12dp5dt I was over 1,500. They were hoping for 600 lol. So yah I pretty much knew it was twins then but I didn't tell DH as I didn't want to freak him out. ;)
    I have no idea what we are having. Can't wait to find out. I was going to be team green but with two? No, I think I need to be prepared!

    Question for all the twin mommies to be. Did your doctor tell you to take extra folic acid? Mine did not but I just read with twins it may be necessary? I'm 8 weeks and wondering if too late?

    Congratulations!!!  I have an u/s on Monday, so we'll see how many are in there.  We only have one set of twins in our family and they were my great aunt and uncle on my dad's side.  So obviously, two eggs were released.  I don't think spontaneous twins would happen for us.  It would be pretty wonderful but we're happy with what we get.

    I'm 5 wk 2 days and also having twins in May 2015. It wasn't a total shock but not really expected either. The multiples board has already helped calm me down.

    I'm having twins too. They're due in May. I'm in shock too. Happy but mostly terrified. I have no other children and I'm just so worried I won't be able to handle two children. How are you feeling? Have you been having a lot of all day nausea?

    @Ndracer‌ my dr gave me a prescription for 4mg a day to take ontop of the 800mcg that is in my pnv.

    @Jazzyashes84‌ I could just be that Ss but my 5w3d betas were 39,418 and when i saw that my first thought was man I hope that doesnt mean twins. So I had an inkling and I was right lol. Dh and I are excited and scared at the same time

    Congrats! Just found out the same last week...Twins! We were totally shocked because I'm an identical twin and it's supposed to skip a generation  Good Luck! I'm 8 weeks 1 day today.  :)

    MMC @10 weeks 10/2014: Naturally conceived twins at 38 y/o 
    Egg retrieval when I was single and 36 y/o, 17 retrieved, frozen for 3 years, 11 made it through the frost, 3 normal PGS (June 2015)
    FET #1 10/2015 MC@12/2015, 2 D&C's, very slow hcg fall so monitored for GTN
