Amniocentesis testing

So I received a letter in the mail a couple days ago and it lists all the tests my Dr requested. One of them is the amino test. Some people have said not to do it because of the risks but with my history with miscarriages and still birth, I would like to know if maybe these have been a result of a genetic disorder or birth defect. So I'm wondering if any if you ladies have had this procedure done before and how it went.

I think there is a siminlar post just a few under yours. You may find some more info there. My OB suggested the Harmony test, just drawing your blood. If there are any unusual findings from that, then they will check the fluid on the NT scan. Only if there are further concerns then they would ask me to do an Amino test. From my understanding there are plenty of tests you can have done before jumping to such an invasive test.
