DD school doesn't have microwave access for the students, and I was thinking about sending stuff in a thermos like spaghetti or chili. My question is will it be safe to eat? I'm super paranoid about food poisioning.
We send stuff in a thermos all the time. You preheat the thermos by filling it with hot tap water or boiling water for 5 minutes before putting the hot food in. There are times it's still so hot by lunch time that Julia has said she has to leave it open a few minutes before it's cool enough to eat.

So what brand thermos do you have?
It's an actual thermos brand. It's shorter and wider than a drink thermos, meant for soup or food, not drinks. It's stainless steel with Hello Kitty on it (it was a gift from my ILs and I'm pretty sure they got it at Target).
We have an insulated container I got from zulily for DS1's lunch. I preheat it with boiling water and then wipe it out and send chicken nuggets. The teacher said it was still really hot by the time they ate lunch (4 hours)
To my boys: I will love you for you Not for what you have done or what you will become I will love you for you I will give you the love The love that you never knew
Re: Using a thermos for school lunches.
