Blood in urine tests....

I have had three separate urine tests over the span of a few weeks and have had blood in my urine every time. It is not visible to the eye but it comes up positive when they use those test strips. I was tested for a bladder infection and I do not have one. A little nervous about blood showing up :( Anyone else experiencing this?

  • Yep, and I tested negative for every infection they tested for. It freaked me out too and we have done an ultrasound. The baby seemed fine. I've also been experiencing pain in my left side so idk what is going on. But I do know some people have that blood all the time (it's a low % like 2.5% or something), maybe that is your case?

  • It is nerve-racking to be 'abnormal' in test results. And then of course Dr. Google introduced the idea of bladder cancer.... Ugh I need to stop googling
  • I've Had the same thing! Went in for UTI test which showed microscopic blood and "abnormalities". So they put me on a week of "safe" antibiotics. But, finally got a call back from lab today saying there was no infection upon further lab testing ... A bit bummed that I've taken 6 days of antibiotics when there was no real possible harm to baby... :(
  • My doctor wanted to run me on antibiotics as well but I held off because I had no other symptoms of UTI and sure enough the results came back no infection! However, that left me uneasy on why the blood is there :(
  • Microscopic hematuria (blood in the urine) can be normal for some people. I have had it my whole life, but all test are normal. If the tests are normal and you have no symptoms I would not worry. If you search microscopic hematuria of unknown etiology you will see it is more common than you think.
  • Thank you ladies! This definitely helped put my mind at ease
