Cloth Diapering

cloth wipes

Making my own baby wipes, couple difderent recipes I will be trying for the solution but was wondering if anyone has ever tried/doing HM wipes. Coconut oil is one of the ingredients and is solid at room temp, mind you i have not tried this yet so im just wondering if when the solution is on the wipes does it melt and stay melted ? Or do you possibly need to get a wipe warmer to keep it from going solid?

Re: cloth wipes

  • Loading the player...
  • Does the coconut oil affect the absorbancy of the inserts in CD as well
  • This content has been removed.
  • I use this....
I dilute it in a spray bottle according to directions.  Spray directly on the bum.  Then wipe with a dry wipe.
  • Usually the wipes recipes call for mixing with hot water. So this will melt the coconut oil. And then if you pour over your wipes, you shouldn't have any solid coconut oil pieces on your wipes.

We tried some solutions in the beginning but water works well. And so I don't mess with solutions anymore.

  • Yes dr bronners is in it as well! Love that magic lol what scent do u use ? I was goimg to use the baby soap and later lavender when babe is older. Thanks ladies! I can see water being in my future as well , as this FTM does not know what all the expect for time for being crunchy and makinf things myself.
  • I also use water, sometimes I put a bit of baby soap in the spray bottle too, I have a little sample container on my change table. Once that is gone it will probably be back to plain water.

  • I have a basket of dry cloth wipes and a spray bottle with just water and a couple drops of lavender oil.  And as others have said, coconut oil shouldn't effect absorbancy...I use it as a diaper rash cream when needed and never had any issues.
