Microfiber or hemp/org cotton inserts?

It seems like i keep reading that hemp/bamboo/org cotton inserts (for Best Bottoms or pockets) are way more absorbable than microfiber--- should I order just those? Or should I have some microfiber too? Why would I want to have both?

Microfiber absorbs very quickly. But cannot touch the skin. almost all pocket diapers come with free microfiber. Sometimes after long time use it gets stinky

Cotton/hemp etc are very very absorbent. They can touch the skin. But the price is usually significantly more than microfiber. Hemp sometimes absorbs slower and if your kid is a quick pee-er, it *could* leak. But I've never had that happen

Even though I am a huge fan of natural fibers, it might be a good idea for you to try both and see which you like? If you are pretty sure you want to have only one kind I would go with natural fibers because there is much less of a chance of you not liking them.

The best bottoms MF inserts have fleece on top, so they can go next to skin. It also makes they stay dry, which is nice for kids that have a wetness sensitivity or for times when you just want a stay dry layer.

I do agree that the cotton/ hemp blend hold more, are trimmer, and you are more likely to like them than the MF if you are only going to get one type.

Natural fibers all the way.

I barely use MF unless I need it as a back up.

We use almost all MF. Freetimes and stay dry BBs.

Wow I had no idea that you couldn't put MF next to skin! Glad I read this before making that mistake. Good thing we have mostly pockets. For what it's worth, I'm 50/50 MF and natural. I like having options.
