FFFC

Come on people, it's 8:17. Let's get this party started. I've had one all week that I've been thinking of. I let DD (11 months) eat whole grapes. I don't cut them. In my defense, she won't eat them cut up and I only give them when I am able to sit right next to her. But she loves them, so whole grapes it is. I let DS eat them whole pretty young too, bc I got sick of cutting them.

  • DH and I have been together for 7 years (married 5). I never told his parents that I was married before him and we're really close, so I feel kind of guilty about it. My reasons for not telling them are threefold. 1) It was embarrassing that I got married so young and it turned out that my ex was a pathological liar and cheater. 2) I wanted them to take me seriously. 3) There isn't really a third reason, I just wanted to make a Friends reference... DH says he doesn't care if I ever tell them. It's my past and I have a right to keep it private.

  • I don't see a FFFC anywhere? Huh. Oh well, first FFFC I have ever started is a bust.

  • I ordered DD one of the rockers from Zulilly and it came in late last week. We opened it and let DD play with it all weekend. She won't remember, right?
  • All I got is that we are totally broke right now because of all the bills stacking up and my b/f going back to school so I've been going through everything we own trying to sell it on FB, craigslist etc.  Sooo lots of Avery's old clothes, swing are going up.  Hopefully my BC works forever!

Also I am getting pretty pissy when someone asks when I am having another baby or I should have another since one is not good.  I am an only child and I'm pretty sure he will be too.  It would be sooo unfair for us to have another baby when we can hardly get by now and guess what I don't want another....I just want to hit them.

So....when your two year old toddler starts freaking out because she hates being strapped into her carseat, you will just let her ride in your lap in the front seat? Because obviously her happiness while doing an activity is directly correlated to how safe it is. I just can't...no one should have to see their kid or anyone die/lose brain function because of choking. It is not a good way to go. Especially if you will have to live with the fact that you could have prevented it. I clearly need to step away from this very personal issue...
I feel like I said something very similar in a FB O13 thread recently. Brain twins.

  • Deft flames for @catycate‌ considering D literally choked on her supper last week. I would never want to take that risk. She was eating appropriately cut food as well. When you see your baby's face turn red, they can't speak, their eyes start to water, and you see their little hands coming up to grasp their neck. I think you will change your mind. It was the scariest moment of my life. Luckily a few quick back pats and she was able to cough it up. It's still very very scary.

  • @sooner1981‌

Are cherry tomatoes okay if cut in quarters, because now that I think of it. She was eating chicken and quartered cherry tomatoes. I looked at what she coughed up though and it just looked like chewed up chicken.

  • My DH choked on a whole grape when he was two, so MIL has drilled this into my brain.

Pretty much the only reason I have a garden is for tomatoes. They just don't taste the same boughten at the store.

Zomg. This is a huge joke with my friends. The word "boughten". I totally say it and it's not a real word.

So now anytime I see/hear someone say it- I'm like "BOUGHTEN!!" LOL. well done @Jalee85‌

    @MrsLoraP‌

LOL I think some of my North Dakotan dialect came through on that one. It's a very common "word" around here. Just like they don't say a shirt is Striped they say that it is Stripe-Ed. I will never fully conform >:)

Also love when people say "A guy would/should/could"

Deft sounds like a regional thing. Did you grow up somewhere else as a kid and then move?

@jalee85 No, I've always lived in Texas...but my Dad's family is from North Dakota, so maybe I heard it from them and adopted it.  It's a good word. :)

    That would make sense :)
