Membrane sweep successes??

Had my membranes swept last night at 5pm. Lost my mucous plug today at 11am.

Anyone go into labor right after a sweep??!!

Had my sweep Tuesday afternon... Lost mucus plug all day yesterday and had contractions 3-5 min apart all day yesterday. Yet, still pregnant.

With Ds I had a sweep and I was in labor that night. So I guess my body just isn't ready this time....

My 1st sweep just caused about 12 hours of false labor. Had my 2nd sweep a week later, baby was here 16 hours later :-) Good Luck!

With my last daughter I had them swept at 38+4 weeks and then again a few days later at 39+4. I didn't go into labor until days later on my due date. However I did lose my mp after the last sweep and was crampy for a few hours. I had them swept today with this kid and I'm 39+1. Nothing at all besides some slight discomfort from someone's finger being wedged up there..

I had mine swept on Monday (at 38w), lost my mucus plug yesterday and had contractions that started getting closer together for a few hours. But they fizzled out. My dr said she mostly expected to see me at my next appointment (meaning she didn't think it would put me in labor right away) but really didn't expect me to go much longer than that. For me, I think my body is almost, but not quite, ready and even if the sweep didn't put me in labor it nudged me in the right direction. Dr said we can try another sweep at my next appointment if I do go that long.

Hope your membrane sweep was more productive than mine!

I had mine at 2:30 pm on my due date. I was already 4cm, Caused a whole bunch of bleeding and weak contractions. Contractions stopped around 11 pm. Real contractions and labor started at 4 am. Had her 4.5 hours later.

I can't have one because I am GBS positive. OB didn't even check to see if I'm dilated today and I am over 40 weeks. I have to go back on Monday to discuss possible induction or RCS for 41+weeks. I better go into labor this weekend, I have put too much time and effort preparing my mind and body for a VBAC. Luckily I have been having contractions all day so I hope they pick up in frequency tonight.

I had one this morning and contractions started minutes later that were 2-3 minutes apart. I was only 1 cm but 75% thinned out so they sent me to L&D with the thought that labor should be starting anytime. Got there and was monitored for 2 hours, contractions had slowed down and no further dilation

( I've been home all afternoon now and am trying to be patient, but I am so ready for this little girl to be here!

With DD I had to done on a Monday afternoon at 40wk4d (I think I was 1cm and 50-75% effaced) and irregular contractions started in the middle of the night and continued til Wednesday when they got more regular and stronger. Went to the hospital Wed night and she was born Thursday morning. So it took a few days but apparently worked!

I just had one last night at 38+6. I was 1.5cm and about 75% effaced. Was super uncomfortable. I had cramping the rest of the night (this was around 7pm) and some spotting and mucus as she said I would. Last night I had a bought of MUCH stronger contractions but they werent timeable and were only for about an hour.

Today I feel pretty good, just a little crampy and still have discharge.

She wants to see me next Tuesday to check where Im at and do another sweep. If baby boy doesnt decide to come on his own we will be induced on Thursday the 25th.

Had my membranes stripped Monday and labor started 2 hours later. Baby was born Tuesday morning. Doc did say it won't work unless your body is ready to go into labor.

It did not work for me at 40 +5, and I found it pretty unpleasant, especially all the bleeding afterwards. I actually felt like I was going to faint after wards and was nauseated. Totally worth the try, but I ended up inducing the next day.

Did not work for me

Had it done Thursday evening. But I am scheduled to be induced tonight in case that didn't work. I've been having a lot of contractions (all irregular), but my body just won't go into full labor on it's own unfortunately. Good luck to you! I hope it works for you.

Had my membrane sweep on September 9th and went into labor 3 hours later -- that night my baby girl was born
