How many chickens do you have?

I have 21. Two aren't old enough to lay, 2 are roosters, one is a Bantam that is a really good setting hen and will hatch any egg you put under her. In addition we have 3 ducks, 2 turkeys, 3 pheasant, and about 15 quail.

We also have 4 dogs and 2 cats. MH really wants to buy a couple steers to feed off and slaughter and someone wanted to give him a horse but I told him no since we are already so busy.

Pretty bird! Everybody say's banty's are mean but mine is the sweetest bird ever. She will even let you pick her up off the eggs to check everything as long as you put her back down in a decent amount of time.

@tarajeanette As a pet. She lived with DH and all his roommates. When she was a baby she would cuddle under the blankets with me. She stayed outside. We built her a canopy and mud pits. As soon as she heard a beer open she would run over and nibble your ankles until you gave her some. She didn't smell.

After DH moved out, all the other guys started moving out. The guy that owned the house sold her

I want chickens, but they are not allowed unless I get a waiver for them being used for educational purposes. As soon as I have to legally declare homeschooling status next year, I am getting a waiver so DS1 can raise chickens (he's been asking for them for several months).
