Late inductions (esp. STMs)

It looks like little miss is pretty comfortable inside me. After my second membrane sweep yesterday, I had regular (but short) contractions all evening that fizzled out by the time I went to bed, and nothing so far today. I have an induction scheduled for tomorrow evening if I don't go into labor on my own before that. I'm  pretty disappointed because I was induced at 39 weeks with my son and was looking forward to laboring and delivering without interventions or medication this time around.

Anyway, my midwife tells me that inductions go more smoothly past 41 weeks and especially in STMs. I'm holding on to that tidbit of information and hoping that this experience will be a lot easier than my last induction and that I can make it with minimal interventions.

Anyone induced past 41 weeks? How did it go? Did you have any labor signs prior to the induction? STMs - anyone induced with their 2nd+ child? Was it faster/easier than previous inductions?

    I'm going to answer even though I don't technically fit what you're looking for because I was 40w5d, so not passed 41. This was my second induction and went a lot faster than my previous induction. At my 40 week check up I was completely closed up but I started having some pretty strong contractions the day before I was going in for induction but nothing that was timeable, they obviously worked because when I checked in to the hospital on Tuesday night I was 1cm woohoo! My OB decided we would start with cytotec and she had planned to do 3 rounds, and then start pitocin in the morning. First cytotec was at 9pm, second at 1am I was then a 2cm and at about 4am I started getting really strong contractions like could barely breathe through them, they checked me at 5am and I was a 5. No need for pitocin. Asked for epidural (I have a very low pain tolerance) it was in by 6, anesthesiologist was surprised with how fast my contractions were coming, checked me after it started working and I was a 9cm and my water broke and fully dilated at 7am, waited a bit for baby to drop, pushed for 20 minutes and she was out by 8:30am. Sorry this got so long, it was under 12 hours from start to finish, my body reacted much better this time, I think had I not gone in for the induction she would have come on her own within 24 hours anyway. My first induction was a lot of nothing happening because I also was not dilated it took over 28 hours, so yes this time was much easier and a lot faster.     I didn't go past term, but I've been induced twice.  First time at 38 weeks, 0 days I was 3 cm 0% effaced and only needed pitocin.  It took about 22 hours and fizzled partway through until my water was broken.

    This time I was 37 weeks, 3 days and started at 4 cm, 50% effaced.  It went much faster and smoother.  In fact, when they broke my water I'd been at 10 cm for a couple hours (just waiting on the doctor).  I was so ready to go that she had to "hold his head in" to wait on the pediatric team to arrive.  I had to hold back the urge to push for 3 contractions.  Then I only had to push twice during one contraction and he was out.  It was crazy how fast it went.

    First Son - born 2013
    Second Son - born 2014 - Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) and Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV).  First open heart surgery at 5 days old.  He's had 3 open heart surgeries and several other procedures and is currently doing amazing.
    Third Son - due June 9, 2018

    I dont have any advice for you, but I'm 41 weeks today and getting induced tonight. .. i'll try and give you an update before yours!

    I have my induction (foley bulb bc of vbac) Scheduled for next Thursday (40+3) and I'm hoping it goes well (vbac...hopefully). 2nd pregnancy (3rd child) first induction. I'm nervous. I've never laboured before. I'm hoping he comes before that but he seems comfortable in there. I'm not progressing at all. Hope yours and @rebennett06‌ goes well.

    I'm a STM. And I was induced each time, but this time was at 39weeks. It was minutely shorter the second time (both were started around 7am, #1 got here at 1:21 the same day, #2 got here at 1:08 the same day!) and it did seem easier. My after pains were worse this time for whatever that means!! :/

    I was induced at 38 weeks 3 days (leaking fluid) with DD - it took 17 hours and 42 minutes start to finish.

    I was induced with DS at 40 weeks (size) - it took 10 hours and 29 minutes.

    My second induction with DS was much easier.

    I'm facing induction number 2 on Monday. The first was perfect and I'm about the same stats as I was then but had more regular timetable contractions last time where I was monitored a few times and sent home. I'm starting to freak out a little that I will be having number 4 in less than. 3 days !!!!!!! :-SS

    Eta: See? You can tell by my fabulous run-on sentence. I'm totally leaving it that way too. Sorry.
