Not enough Fetal Dna

hello, every one

  I am concern and worried as I am a first time mom.  my blood work for the Down

syndrome came back negative which made me feel great! but  they said I had  go get blood work done again because I didn't have enough fetal dna in the blood sample? they told my husband that is normal and that it happen. but what I want to know what exactly is  fetal  DNA and what is this test for.  because when I Google it talks about DS yet they said that came back  neg.  I would appreciate if any one helps me with this. I am 20 weeks

    I can't tell you exactly what fetal DNA is, but I know that my doctor told me there is always a chance that there is not enough DNA for results. She even said it was totally normal to have to run a second test. Don't worry yourself retest. I'm sure all is well labs are just picky at times and do not want to provide you with false information.
