Cerclage anyone? had one ?

in March 2015 Moms
So..almost 13wks with twins..and have a consult this for a poss cerglage. I have a history of preterm labor..so as you can imagine a little worried here. But anyone every have one of these?

    My MFM wants to put one in if I don't get on p17 soon so I am also curious about this.  Also if anyone has had one was there any recovery time after or was it back to your normal routine right away?

    So update..went to appointment for MFN and now scheduled for a cerglage next week...Wednesday morning. Very scared and emotional. Cervix went from 4cm to 2 in a week. Also starting progesterone suppos. Tonight. Fun. This is alot to handle ... prays ..welcomed...13 wks today with twins.

    Glad to hear you are doing well, my first ob didn't "believe" in cerclage. Needless to say I switched

    My understanding is that there is no evidence to support cerclage. It is often done since the risk is relatively small and most of the time moms & docs prefer to do SOMETHING. I would not run screaming from a doc who didn't believe in cerclage. It tells me they practice based on evidence, which is something I'd want in an OB.
