Completely inappropriate? Rant

So I work a regular 8:30-5:15 banking job. There are three of us that work full time and take lunches between the hours of 11:30a-2:30p. My job allows me two pumping sessions of 20 minutes each on the clock and then i can also pump on my lunch. When my boss made our schedules(prior to me returning to work), she chose our lunch times sort of randomly(as usual). I told her before coming back to work that I may need to switch lunches with one of the other girls so I could pump on schedule depending on what time LO eats before I leave for work. Well the other girls seem to have a problem with this. Today I needed to have the 12:30-1:30 lunch ( like I have all week) so I could pump at 1pm and they literally ignored my request!! No one wants to take the early lunch, I get it, but I'm providing food for my child and need to not mess with the supply/schedule! Starting in October my boss is going to give me the same 12:30-1:30 lunch time daily to prevent this. I would trade with them and have for their needs but it seems they are not willing and definitely not happy about trading times with me. Am I asking to much of them? Is it that inappropriate?

I think they are being bitchy, childish, and unsupportive but they don't have to switch with you either.

You are absolutely right that they do not "have" to switch with me. I guess I am a little less selfish then they are.

  • What time is the early lunch shift?  Is it really that bad to pump a little early?  It is only one day after all.
